Revolutionary Ride

This route features history, history, and yet more history. We will be riding portions of the same route that many of the Minute Men took on April 19, 1775. This is also one of Henry David Thoreau’s favorite walks. The old road is preserved in Estabrook Woods and it has changed little in 225 years. There are about 2 miles of “civilized” off-road riding through the woods on the old road. It is mostly smooth and downhill and a very nice ride. We will also visit the Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord and cross the Old North Bridge.

We will meet at the Donelan’s Supermarket parking lot in Acton at 248 Great Road (Route 2A). From Littleton Common where Routes 110, 119, and 2A meet, go toward Concord on Route 2A for approximately 5 miles. On your right you will see a sign for Gould’s Plaza. Turn in here and park in the corner in front of Donelan’s.
