Beaver Brook

This route explores a small part of the Beaver Brook Association trails in Hollis, New Hampshire. We will stick to the old farm roads which are mostly smooth and level. If we have time, we will visit Hollis Town Common and then we will head back to Pepperell along a ridge with apple orchards and gorgeous views. A fair amount of this route is on gravel roads, so be prepared.

The ride starts at the Pepperell Town Field about 100 feet past the 111/113 rotary. There is a small building and a parking lot next to some basketball courts on the left as you leave the rotary heading north on Route 111 north toward Nashua. Route 111 is also called Hollis Street north of the rotary. This is the same meeting place we use for the Heald Pond route.

Heald Pond

Beaver Brook Association was founded by Hollis P. Nichols and Jeffrey P. Smith, both of Hollis, New Hampshire. Beginning with just 12 acres of land in 1964, the two cousins dedicated their time and energies to creating a special land-based resource for young and old alike, a place that both fostered land stewardship awareness and encouraged a sense of appreciation for the natural world. During this time, the State of New Hampshire chartered Beaver Brook Association as an educational non-profit organization.
